Maybe it’s because I helped coach cheer and dance for 4 years or that Madi is an ex-cheerleader, but she and I both are obsessed with pom poms! In addition to the numerous chunky knit projects we have lined up after Christmas, DIY pom pom crafts like making throw pillows and blankets is next on the list. I would love a pom pom rug, but I’m pretty sure our dog would either eat it or turn it into a dog bed.
I admit I’m literally OBSESSED with both pom poms and chunky knitting right now! While we try to make crafts that we love, when a DIY project is popular makes it so much easier to get awesome new ideas and find free tutorials or patterns!

This tutorial uses inexpensive Target placemats and craft store pom poms. My favorite way to make pillow covers is actually with cloth napkins! Most are sold as 18″ squares, you just need two cloth napkins in your favorite pattern, an old 18″ pillow from home or a pillow form, and bam! You have a fast and easy pillow 🙂
