Easy Boozy Maraschino Cherries (4th of July)

These red white and blue boozy cherries are an easy patriotic party treat made with vodka-soaked maraschino cherries, white chocolate, and festive sprinkles. Perfect for 4th of July parties, BBQs, and summer cocktail tables.

Prep Time 15 minutes
Total Time 1 hour 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 10 ounce jar maraschino cherries with stems
  • ¼ cup vodka (vanilla vodka works well)
  • 5 ounces white chocolate melting wafers or white chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup sanding sugar or sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Drain about ⅓ cup of syrup from the jar of maraschino cherries. Pour the vodka into the jar, seal tightly, and gently swirl to combine. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for a stronger flavor.

  2. Remove the cherries from the jar and place them on paper towels. Pat them completely dry so the chocolate sticks properly.

  3. Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper and set aside.

  4. Add the white chocolate melting wafers or white chocolate chips to a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20 to 30 second intervals, stirring between each, until melted and smooth.

  5. Hold each cherry by the stem and dip it into the melted white chocolate, coating most of the cherry. Immediately add sanding sugar or sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet.

  6. Place the dipped cherries on the prepared tray. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is fully set.

Recipe Notes

  • Dry the cherries really well before dipping
  • Vanilla vodka gives them a sweeter flavor
  • Add sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet
  • Perfect for summer BBQs and parties
