Course Dessert
Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 25 minutes
Servings 15 strawberries

Ingredients

  • 12-15 fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate or 1 cup orange candy melts
  • Orange oil-based food coloring
  • Fresh mint or basil sprigs, optional

Instructions

  1. Wash the strawberries thoroughly and pat them completely dry with paper towels. Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper.

  2. Place the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until fully melted and smooth.

  3. Add a few drops of orange oil-based food coloring and stir until the chocolate reaches a pumpkin-orange color. If using orange candy melts instead, melt them according to the package directions.

  4. Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted coating, turning gently to cover all sides. Allow any excess coating to drip back into the bowl.

  5. Place the coated strawberries on the prepared parchment-lined tray.

  6. Let the strawberries sit at room temperature until the coating hardens, or refrigerate for 10 to 15 minutes to speed up the process.

  7. Before serving, add small mint or basil leaves near the stems if desired to create a pumpkin patch look.

Recipe Notes

  • Use oil-based food coloring for the smoothest white chocolate coating.
  • Orange candy melts can be substituted if preferred.
  • Dry strawberries completely before dipping to help the coating stick.
  • Mint or basil leaves make adorable pumpkin stems and vines.
  • Best served the same day for the freshest flavor and texture.
