Easy homemade pistachio syrup

This is the perfect recipe for making your own pistachio syrup from home for a martini or coffee. Easy, sweet and nutty, it's the best for St Patrick's Day or drinks with the girls.

Prep Time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • ½ cup crushed pistachios
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ oz Green food coloring
  • optional vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Heat and dissolve

Add sugar and water to a small saucepan and heat until boil. Once it reaches a boil, lower to a simmer. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture looks clear.

  2. Add pistachios

Stir in chopped pistachios and let the mixture gently simmer for about 8 to 10 minutes. The syrup should become fragrant and slightly tinted

  3. Strain and cool

Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Strain into a jar, pressing gently to extract flavor. Stir in optional vanilla or a drop of green coloring if using.

Let cool fully before sealing or adding to your drink!
