Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 vanilla extract
  • 2 ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups red, white & blue M&Ms

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper so the cookies don’t stick.

  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with the brown sugar and white sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.

  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until everything is smooth and fully combined.

  4. Stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt until a soft dough forms. Mix just until combined.

  5. Gently fold in the red, white, and blue M&M’s, saving a few to press on top if you want a bakery-style look.

  6. Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing each cookie a few inches apart.

  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are set and the centers still look slightly soft.

  8. Let cookies cool on the pan for a few minutes, then move to a wire rack to finish cooling.
