Hi friends!
Welcome to a Bougie girls world.
I initially started Hairs Out of Place with my mom in 2017 as a frugal living and travel site, but then she started a food blog and content creator Madi took over this space. While I'm always trying to enhance life, I constantly have ideas and inspo I want to share, so what better place to be that girl!?
Who is Madi:
I am an early 30's full-time content creator writing posts related to cozy spaces, holiday hosting, lifestyle and decor, cute DIY ideas, and celebrations like parties and gifts for millennials and Gen Z girlies. So yes, we probably have a lot in common.
In my extra time, I'm a dancer and Pilates gal, I enjoy binge-watching reality tv or standup, looking for the best espresso martini, celebrating glimmers and romanticizing life, scoping out events and live music to make my friends go to, and dreaming of my next trip to Europe.

I grew up in Washington state and lived there for most of my life. I moved to Santa Barbara, CA to earn a communications degree. After college I moved back to WA and once I realized I cannot live without daily sunshine and palm trees, I moved to San Diego for three years. On a family vacation I unexpectedly found and followed love from overseas, and after a year I moved to Spain for 10 months.
Let's just say I'm proud of myself for becoming a world traveler and the eye-opening experiences I had, but that was a chapter in the dreamer life of Madi. I've been fortunate enough to travel many places with my family, and I love immersing myself into another world of food, people, culture, fashion and experiences. You can call me a PNW native with a California heart, and a big attraction to the European lifestyle.
My biggest life passions are fashion, fitness, dance, travel, people and events, and being the biggest foodie, even if I'm too small of a person to eat everything I want. I am quite a cozy person and will always keep my workspace or life in general aesthetic, vibey and cozy. So part-time homebody. We're talking wine nights, candles lit, and a new Netflix show to make my life feel better. And yes, this is the romantic me.

Then there's fun Madi who LOVES being around people, social activities, taking dance classes as much as possible, performing, any excuse to dress up and give main character, discover new food and drink places, thrifting, community events and live music, and more traveling!
I'm 100% a summer, warm-weather person and happiest in the sun, near the water and any good sunrise or sunset. A random fun fact: my guilty pleasures are green olives and gummies (it's a Spain thing) and creamy espresso martinis.

So why Hairs Out of Place?
To me, Hairs Out of Place not only describes my wild hair in its own world (you don't ever see because my curly hair stopped curling) but it also just describes LIFE in that it isn't as perfect as we want it to be all the time and often can be a hot mess!
But you know, I'm okay being out of place, because I'm grateful and happy with where my life has gotten me and I'm always working to be the best version of myself and highest potential. Life is too short to let the imperfections get in the way- be your wildest, truest self, and embrace it! Something I'm still working on too and hopefully can inspire you to do ๐
I am here to help others create a fun, bougie and trendy lifestyle that makes you feel good, and makes you want to romanticize your life more, however that looks to you. I love getting to know people and really hoping to find a community essence and connection with my viewers on Hairs Out of Place.
So please reach out to me in the comments, on articles, my personal Instagram or feel free to email at [email protected] for anything! Bougie girls need to stick together.
XOXO, Madi
