The holidays are usually all about cookies, hot cocoa, and sugar overload… but this year I wanted to try something different. These Ninja Creami recipes give you all the festive Christmas and holiday flavors you love with a high protein twist.

You'll only need our vanilla protein ice cream base, then you can spin it into 12 different holiday flavors. Whether you're team eggnog, obsessed with peppermint, or more of a cookie-butter-everything person, there's a holiday flavored pint I know you'll love!

NOTE: I have the Ninja Max which is the 24 oz family size Ninja Creami. I did half batches in this machine since most readers have the standard Ninja Creami (16 oz machines). If you're using a regular Ninja Creami, you can increase the milk ½ cup and add more sweetener to taste.

🎁 High Protein Holiday Ice Cream Base

Vanilla Base Ingredients (per pint):

  • 1 ½ cups Fairlife milk (or another high protein milk) - plain 2% milk or use chocolate milk if you're making a chocolate recipe.
  • 30-35g vanilla protein powder (or chocolate if it's a chocolate recipe) - this can be 1-2 scoops depending on your brand's scoop size.
  • 1-2 tablespoon sugar or sweetener of choice (I prefer 1 tablespoon to keep it on the lighter side). This can be granulated sugar, coconut sugar, honey, maple syrup, or monkfruit.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

To this: Add the ingredients below for each flavor variation. As noted, some ingredients get added to the vanilla base and others are mix-ins after the protein ice cream gets frozen.

Instructions:

  • Blend or whisk everything until smooth (a blender or hand mixer helps avoid clumps).
  • Pour mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container (do not pass the max fill line).
  • Freeze for 24 hours until completely solid. Freeze with the lid off to avoid the ice cream "bump."
  • Spin on Lite Ice Cream or Ice Cream setting.
  • If the texture is crumbly, press Re-spin until creamy. Some readers find adding 1 tablespoon of milk or 1 tablespoon vanilla pudding mix helps with the remix.

Macros (per pint): ~350 calories | 44g protein | 24g carbs | 9g fat

The high protein base makes about 350 calories, 44 grams of protein, 24 grams of carbs, and only 9 grams of fat for the entire container! This is delicious on it's own or you can turn it into one of twelve festive holiday flavors below.

How to Add Mix-Ins to Your Ninja Creami (Step-by-Step)

For each recipe, you're essentially taking our vanilla protein base recipe, adjusting the flavors, and then adding mix-ins. Here's how to add the mix-in goodies.

1. Spin your base. Run your pint through the Lite Ice Cream or Ice Cream cycle until it's smooth and creamy. Use a Re-spin if the texture still looks icy or crumbly.

2. Create a center well. Use a butter knife to carve a well down the middle of the pint. Make it about 1 to 1.5 inches wide and go all the way to the bottom so there's plenty of room for mix-ins.

3. Add your mix-ins. Fill the well with your add-ins-think chocolate chips, crushed cookies, sprinkles, chopped nuts, or candy pieces. Keep them in small bite-size pieces so they distribute evenly but don't disappear.

4. Run the Mix-In cycle. Pop the pint back into the machine and press the Mix-In button. It'll blend your goodies perfectly throughout the ice cream without over-mixing.

Creami Tips

  • Freeze the container with the lid OFF to prevent a hump in the center of the ice cream. You otherwise have to level off the ice cream before blending if you do get a hump.
  • High protein bases can freeze a little dry.
  • If it turns out powdery, add 1-2 tablespoon milk and re-spin.
  • For extra creamy: add 1 teaspoon heavy cream, condensed milk, or 1 teaspoon pudding mix (regular or sugar free) and re-spin.

❄️ FAQs

Do I have to use Fairlife?
No, you can use any high protein milk like Premier Protein or Carbmaster, just keep the protein powder in to get the macros up.

Can I make these dairy-free?
Yes! Use a plant-based protein powder and soy or pea protein milk for the best results.

Will the Baileys version actually get me tipsy?
Not really. It's only a couple tablespoons per pint, so the alcohol is minimal. For zero alcohol, stick with Baileys protein shake or coffee creamer.

What's the best protein powder for the Creami?
Whey or casein blends make the creamiest texture, but plant-based protein powders work too. You may just need to press Re-spin an extra time.

Macros are way off on the base . I’m not going to list due to variations in brand of milk and protein powder but at the least ( regular milk ) 13.5g of protein and a protein powder with say 24g of p which isn’t close to the most . You are sitting at 37.5 grams . About 330 cals .
