These Dubai chocolate cookies are rich, oversized cookies inspired by Middle Eastern flavors. Made with cocoa, pistachio cream, and crispy kataifi, they’re an easy Valentine’s dessert for two.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and egg yolk until smooth. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
Divide the dough into 2 equal portions and shape into round cookies. Make a small indentation in the center of each cookie.
Spoon pistachio cream into the center of each cookie. Top with roasted kataifi, chocolate squares, chocolate shavings, and heart sprinkles if using.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
