The best way to stick to a health plan is to set yourself up for success by making simple and ready to go food to help keep you on track with your nutrition plan.
While following a Keto diet is easier at home, what about those times when you’re on the go and don’t know what’s REALLY in the food dishes at the restaurants you’re visiting?
My sweet and hard-working husband has successfully followed a ketogenic diet for 3 months now and is down 30 pounds. He has a job with frequent travel and one of the best ways for him to stick to his keto program, is by prepping low carb food at home and taking it with him.
What works best for me is by sticking to a whole foods plan, but I admit, so many of the keto recipes he creates or reads about online have been delicious!
Whether you’re on the go for work, just need a simple keto snack to tide you over in between meals or need to pack easy to go ketogenic meals you can take with you, we’ve got you covered!

Low Carb Cheese Taco Shells
I truly think one of the reasons my husband’s been so successful with the Keto diet is because of fried cheese. Whether he cooks it up as a parmesan snack, as a taco shell or uses it as a bun for his morning breakfast sandwich, you can pretty much turn a fried snack into something that works at every meal and satisfies most cravings.
Pickle Roll-Ups
My grandma used to make these when we were kids and she’d serve them as appetizers. Who knew a few decades later this old-fashioned snack would become a popular Keto appetizer?
Loaded Zucchini Skins
Here’s the perfect substitution for potato skins that’ll help keep you on track with your keto plan. You can simply scoop out the center of your zucchini and top it with so many delicious low carb toppings! After yielding 120 zucchini’s from 4 tiny little plants in our garden last summer, this is a new recipe to add to our zucchini rotation! Yes, I really said 120 zucchini’s… đ
Pizza Stuffed Mushrooms
Cooking mushroom pizzas is one of our absolute favorite go-to snacks and meals to keep the keto diet working. I’m sure like most of you, giving up US diet staples like pizza really sucks. Portabella mushrooms make the perfect dinner size keto pizza, whereas baby bellas make an ideal snack on the go!
Keto Bacon Deviled Eggs
Who knew that the old deviled eggs party standby would become a popular way to stick to the keto program? I could never get tired of deviled eggs, experimenting with different herbs and seasoning like curry or adding dill, also makes deviled eggs taste amazing.
Quick and Easy Antipasto Skewers
Antipasto skewers are another amazing on-the-go keto snack that makes it so easy to create tons of different variations by swapping out the types of meat or even the cheeses. Have you checked out the Trader Joes cheese case lately? If so, then you’ll know what I’m talking about! So many delicious specialty cheese options that’d be perfect for antipasto skewers.
