If you need an easy green fruit salad that looks festive but does not taste like a sugar bomb, this is the one I keep making for parties like St Patricks Day or a spring brunch.

I originally spotted a green fruit salad on Pinterest and loved the idea. After testing it at home, I made a few small tweaks so it tasted brighter and more balanced. I cut back on the kiwi, added a splash of orange juice, and kept the sweetness light so it still feels fresh. The result is a St Patrick's Day fruit salad that people actually go back for.

This is the kind of recipe I throw together when I want something green and fun on the table without turning it into a dessert situation.

What You'll Need

  • Green grapes
  • Honeydew melon
  • Kiwi
  • Green apple
  • Peeled cucumber - optional for a kids fruit salad, the cucumber gives it more of an adult brunch vibe
  • Fresh lime juice
  • Fresh orange juice
  • Honey, optional
  • Fresh mint for garnish

That splash of orange juice is the secret. It softens the lime and keeps the salad from tasting sharp.

How to Make Green Fruit Salad

  1. Add the grapes, honeydew, kiwi, green apple, and peeled, cubed cucumber to a large bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the lime juice, orange juice, and honey if you're using it.
  3. Drizzle the citrus mixture over the fruit and gently toss everything together.
  4. Taste it and stop there. This salad should taste fresh, not sugary.
  5. Fish the salad with fresh mint right before serving. Enjoy!

I usually chill it for about 20 minutes, but I would not make this too far ahead or it can get watery.

My Best Tips

  • Peel and cube the cucumber so it blends in and does not feel savory.
  • Start with 1 teaspoon of honey. Most of the time, that is plenty.
  • If your fruit is extra ripe, you can skip the honey completely.
  • Add the apple and mint closer to serving so everything stays bright.

When I Serve This

This easy green fruit salad is perfect for St Patrick's Day parties, spring brunch, girls night, baby showers, bridal showers, or anytime I want something fresh next to cocktails.

It is light, pretty, and easy to throw together at the last minute.
