We’re a hot chocolate obsessed family, especially our teenage son. He loves it so much, it’s become a tradition to get him a hot chocolate related gift every year at Christmas. Do you know how hard it is to give a different type of hot chocolate related gift each year? It’s pushing my creativity buttons for sure! Well, he’ll be getting a hot cocoa bar “for 1” this year and I’m super excited about it! To get inspiration for his mini hot cocoa bar gift basket, I researched the best homemade hot cocoa recipes on the internet as inspiration! I’m not quite sure this batch can be classified as drinks, they definitely seem more dessert like to me!

I purchased most of the hot cocoa bar ideas at World Market, they had such a wide variety it was definitely hard to narrow it down. If I ever stop blogging and start wrapping gifts, I’ll add a photo of his mini hot cocoa bar basket!

I’m sure there’s many ways to create pink hot cocoa, you can color a white hot cocoa mix pink, heat up strawberry milk as your base or do what I did for my teenage son–he’s going to be mad over this one!–purchase pink Hello Kitty cocoa! They sell it at Cost Plus World Market, it was too unique to pass up!
