If you need a St Patrick's Day fruit salad that feels festive, colorful, and fun without being over-the-top, my leprechaun fruit salad is it.

I wanted something that felt playful for St Patrick's Day but still fresh and actually good. Not neon green. Not marshmallows. Not dessert pretending to be salad.
This one leans into green and gold with juicy fruit, a light citrus drizzle, and just enough color to make it pop on a party table. I alternate this some years with my easy green fruit salad (which this recipe is a spin from).
This is the kind of salad I put out next to cocktails and snacks when I want something lighter that still feels on theme.
Why I Love This Leprechaun Salad
- It is festive without feeling cheesy
- The green and gold colors are perfect for St Patrick's Day
- It is light, juicy, and not overly sweet
- It looks adorable in a big white serving bowl
- It balances out heavier party food
The cantaloupe is what makes this one special. It adds that golden color and a little extra sweetness so the salad feels happy and intentional, not just green for the sake of being green.
How to Make St Patricks Day Fruit Salad
- Add the grapes, honeydew, cantaloupe, kiwi, and green apple to a large bowl.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the lime juice, orange juice, and honey .
- Drizzle the citrus mixture over the fruit and gently toss.
- Taste for flavor and adjust sweetness as needed. This salad should taste fresh and juicy, not syrupy. Add chopped fresh mint or mint leaves right before serving. Enjoy!
I usually chill it for about 20 minutes before serving, especially if it is going out on a party table.
My Best St Patrick's Day Salad Tips
- Cut everything into similar-sized cubes (or balls) so the salad looks balanced.
- Use ripe melon so you do not need much honey.
- Keep the kiwi slightly reduced so it does not overpower everything else.
- Serve this in a wide white bowl so the colors really stand out.
- Add a serving spoon to the bowl so it clearly reads as party food.
