Get cute easy DIY Valentine’s Day garlands that’ll make your space look so fun and festive! Whether you’re looking for paper garland ideas, photo garlands, felt balls, and many more!

diy valentines garland ideas for a pinterest pin

My absolute favorite decorations for any holiday are always inexpensive, quick and easy things like DIY garlands. Other great decorating ideas are low cost or free wall printables, and fun holiday pillow and/or pillow covers. Basically, anything that uses simple craft supplies I have around the house or decorations that are easy to store like pillow covers.

At our home, I have a go-to holiday decor plan that usually means I add a garland, banner, or lanterns in our entryway, I add a garland and seasonal candles to the fireplace mantle, a simple holiday centerpiece in the dining room and throw pillows for the living room. So easy and simple!

Here are 10 of my favorite DIY Valentines Day garland ideas to easily brighten up any room in your house for February 14th!

Valentine’s Easy Paper Hearts Garland

A paper heart garland of red, white, and gold cardstock will look great on your mantle, above a bed, or in a window.

Valentine’s Day Hugs & Kisses Garland

valentines paper garlands

A simple paper garland made with X’s and O’s in shades of red, pinks, and white cardstock. This is a great project older kids can help with too. Super cute!

Valentines Card Hearts Garland

Using old heart playing cards with strands of ribbon is adorable and festive. Unfortunately, this site seems to no longer be in existence to link to the tutorial, but hopefully, the image gives you inspo! The image was by Naturally Estes.

Here’s another heart garland tutorial by Happiness is Homemade you can use instead!

Valentine’s Day Felted Yarn Garland

The Turquoise Home has step-by-step instructions for how to make this stunning felt ball garland! A DIY felt ball garland is a perfect decoration for any season, holiday, or celebration…but especially for Valentines Day when it’s in shades of reds and pinks.

DIY Candy Heart Garland

We actually made this conversations hearts garland last year for Valentines Day and it was super fun and easy! If candy hearts are your favorite holiday candy, this might just be the dream project for you!

3D Paper Heart Garland

Valentines garlands don’t have to be horizontal, many vertical displays across a doorway or on the stairwell look so cute.

While Miss Bizy Bee’s site is no longer in existence (who took the image above), I did find a tutorial for you by Suburbia Unwrapped on how to make 3D paper hearts. Just add string or thread to connect your 3D hearts.

Valentine’s Day Doily Garland

There’s something so sweet and nostalgic about paper heart doilies. Maybe it’s growing up with grandma’s that had doilies all over their house.

You’ll just need baker’s twine and small paper heart doilies to make this lovely Valentines garland.

Valentines Photo Banner

If you have a Polaroid or at least a handful of cute Polaroid pics, you can make this adorable and easy garland with photos, small cardstock heart cutouts, and attach them with white floss.

No Sew Rustic Valentine’s Banner

My ears are peaked at ‘no sew”! While we love to be crafty, we’re all about the quick and easy projects. Burlap is a great material to work with since it doesn’t unravel.

You just need colored burlap, red felt heart cutouts, and twine. The Thoughts from Alice site no longer exists (don’t try to find it..it goes to a spam site).. I found this super cute burlap banner tutorial for inspo by Kara Creates. She paints on glitter hearts but you can just as easily use the felt hearts instead.

Free Valentine’s LOVE Printables

You can get a Free Printable LOVE Valentine’s Day Glitter Banner from Tator Tots & Jello. Decorate your home with this free printable banner. Just download it, print it out on card stock, and hang it up.

Making a festive banner doesn’t get much easier than this!
