I love keeping a few protein pints in the freezer because they make the easiest dessert or snack, especially on days when I want something cold without the sugar overload. It's also fun mixing in different toppings so every pint feels a little different.

You'll love this one because it is quick to blend, super smooth once it spins, and gives you a higher protein treat without losing that classic vanilla ice cream vibe.

Things to Know Before Making High Protein Vanilla Ice Cream

  • Blend the cream cheese completely so the base freezes smooth
  • Powdered sweetener dissolves better than granulated
  • Freeze the pint on a flat shelf so the Creami blade can spin evenly
  • Vanilla protein works best for flavor and texture

High protein recipes always make me feel like I'm winning the day with zero extra effort.

How to Make High Protein Vanilla Ice Cream

Step 1: Add the milk, cream cheese, protein powder, powdered sweetener, vanilla extract, and salt to a blender. Blend until everything is fully smooth with no cream cheese pieces remaining.

Step 2: Pour the blended mixture into the Ninja Creami pint container, making sure it stays below the fill line. Secure the lid tightly before freezing.

Step 3: Freeze the pint for 24 hours on a completely flat surface so the texture spins evenly.

Step 4: Once frozen solid, place the pint into the Ninja Creami and run the Lite Ice Cream cycle.

Step 5: If the mixture looks crumbly after the first spin, add one to two tablespoons of milk into the center and run the Mix-In cycle until creamy.

Step 6: Scoop immediately for a soft texture or freeze again for a firmer scoop.

Substitutions and Variations

  • Use chocolate protein powder for a chocolate version
  • Add crushed cookies during Mix-In for extra texture
  • Swirl in peanut butter or almond butter
  • Add berries for a fruity twist

What to Serve with High Protein Vanilla Ice Cream

Serve with fresh berries, granola clusters, or a drizzle of melted chocolate. It is also great topped with sprinkles or crushed cookies if you want more texture or a dessert style bowl.

Storage and Freezing

Store in the Ninja Creami pint with the lid on for up to one month. If the ice cream becomes firm, let it rest at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping or re-spin with a splash of milk.

FAQs

Can I use non dairy milk?

You can, but dairy milk creates the creamiest texture. Non dairy options may freeze firmer.

Can I use different protein powders?

Whey protein works best. Plant based protein powder might need extra milk during the re spin.

Can I double the recipe?

Yes. Just freeze and spin each pint separately for best results.

Why is my ice cream crumbly?

It needs more liquid. Add one to two tablespoons of milk and run Mix In.
